Helen O'Grady Drama International Academy opened another teaching studio at Kanjedza Primary School's min-hall with a bang! A team of enthusiastic youths volunteered to drop leaflets door by door to announce the opening of one of the many convenient studios by the International Drama Academy. And yesterday, the principal of Helen O'Grady in Malawi, an allumni of Kanjedza Primary School, was the given an opportunity to address the latter school during assembly, and teachers volunteered to distrubute more leaflets to students, after classes. Kids were so excited to hear about this programme, and it is hoped that this will translate into steady growth of enrolled students at this studio.

Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in partnership with ATEM to promote the perfect speaking of English in Malawi

On Sunday, 18th April, 2010, the Association for the Teaching of English in Malawi (ATEM) conducted its annual drama festival (South West Education Division) at the Zingwangwa Secondary School. The participating schools, namely Zingwangwa (the hosts), Chichiri Day and Bangwe Day, respectively. Although there were just a few schools, excitement was everywhere for the audience as well as performers.

This was festival was spiced by the material sponsorship in form of fictional books and scholarship to the Best Actor/Actress, as well as Supporting Best Actor/Actress that Helen O'Grady International Drama Academy awarded as prizes.

It was exciting to see many school officials and students gathering at the Helen O'Grady information desk that was set up at one corner of the hall to give out the much needed information about the Academy's work to develop confidence and verbal communication skills to as many young people of Malawi, as possible.
